We all like to be part of a greater whole and one way to do

AFTER THE FALL is a new role play sim with a sci-fi,
post-apocalyptic theme. ATF is an elaborate grungy city, with aliens, combat,
and adult-themed role play. It's a
highly interactive sim that gives avatars the opportunity for group role play
or solo quests (with prizes).
AFTER THE FALL is an adult-rated sim, so you must be 18
years or older to play.
The creator of the sim, Tigerlily Hyun told the SLE “We are very
excited to open up this new role play sim. We're just getting started, so you

Discovering Wild Texas Rose- Justice Brentley Reporting...
I am very excited that I found this place in Second Life called the Wild
Texas Rose. Entering into the sim for the first time, I felt like time had
turned back. The old western theme at the Wild Texas Rose has many things
to offer, like horseback riding on the trails or right on into town.
While you are in the town, check out the saloon where you can ride
the mechanical bull and horse while listening to all the greatest tunes from DJ's.
Wild Texas Rose has rooms for rent as if you were back in that
era. You and your partner can even ride in the carriage around town.
You
better watch the sky's though! You never know when a tornado will blow through.
With the storm animations all in motion, it brings some realistic weather effects to Second Life.

Three-dimensional
(3D) printing of small objects at home has become a popular hobby for wannabe
designers, and this shows also in the new technology “hype” statistics.
Anything from decorative and hard-to-find spare parts to the constituent parts of
the printer itself can be manufactured using mesh designs and an export file
for the printer in question. Second Life © (SL) is also a viable platform for
viewing the designs before printing them in 3D, and now also designs made for
SL can be printed in glorious 3D for real-life (RL) use. Stareyes Galaxy
discussed the technology and real-life examples of SL jewelry with Joja Dhara
and Maxi Gossamer.

Squinternet Larnia - rest in peace lovely lady
Dedicated to the talented designer Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora - who has sadly lost her battle against cancer.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle
showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful
birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the
birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave bereft
I am not there. I have not left.
In late 2011, Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora, thought she was suffering from repetitive stress injury, but in that December she learned that the aching in her bones was not from working on the computer but from breast cancer that had metastasized into her bones. She surprised everyone by rallying at the time. She pursued alternative therapies that gave her energy and strength. They did not cure the cancer, but for a time they managed it. She outlasted her doctor’s prognosis by more than a year.
Squinternet you will be missed by all your friends and the SL fashion industry as a whole.
OPEN MIC AUDITIONS KICK-OFF SL’S GOT TALENT CONTEST- September 5, 2013 7pm SLT
On
Thursday, September 5, 2013, starting at 7 PM SLT, the SL's GOT TALENT CONTEST
officially kicks off with the OPEN MIC Auditions. There will be a number
of known and unknown Second Life performers gathering on the Wynchester Hope
City sim to show off their stuff. You do
not want to miss the first opportunity to hear the amazing variety of talent
from SL residents. Additional auditions
will be held on Saturday, September 7th, 3-4 PM SLT and 7-9 PM SLT.
SL’s GOT
TALENT (SLGT) Contest was created and organized by Jackie Lefko, the owner of
the HARLEM SPEAKEASY located on the Wynchester Hope City sim. After debuting several new SL performers at
her venue, Jackie’s brain started churning and Voila – the birth of SLGT. She felt a contest would be a great
opportunity for those looking for a unique opportunity to not only showcase
their talent but to also engage in a personal challenge. Other business owners agreed as they lined up
to participate as Sponsors, Judges and Prize Contributors as follows:

The Guitar Museum of Second Life ©- Stareyes Galaxy Reporting...
Many sims in Second Life © (SL) are created as a homage
to some phenomenon or another, in all walks of life.
Many times, these sites
are a great way to educate oneself on the history and present state of the art
of the topic at hand. Stareyes Galaxy went to see the Guitar Museum and to
interview its creators, Bono Fouroux, Angel La Femme, and Veronica Weksler.
Bono is a well-known guitarist himself, and Veronica sings live on SL. They
sometimes have duo performances, combining their streams from The Netherlands
and Ohio.

Technology: Oculus Rift – a New Virtual Reality Viewing Accessory- Stareyes Galaxy Reporting…
Oculus Rift is a new virtual reality (VR) viewing
accessory that is designed to give VR gamers a new level of user experience.
The device development was initially financed by Kickstarter, and demonstrator
units are now available for developers, together with a software development
kit (SDK). Linden Lab is looking into porting this VR experience to Second Life
© (SL) users, but there is still a way to go before we can expect the first
avatars to enter SL using an Oculus Rift viewer. Stareyes Galaxy had the
opportunity to test the demonstrator.
The technology behind the Oculus Rift is quite
straightforward. It uses a 6” liquid-crystal display (LCD) and enlarging optics
for both eyes. A personal computer (PC) is used to send the viewable content to
the display. The user then sees a stereoscopic view of the VR content, as both
eyes get their own view, separated by the perspective. The optics focus on the
display surface itself, but the perspective seems to be set in infinity. The
rendering for the display is done by means of the software, for each eye
separately. The viewer uses the same content that is rendered on the PC screen.

2013 Sunburst Premier Caribbean Carnival week has begun and what an
opening! The pre-carnival kick-off at
Club 51/50 was beyond expectations. The
crowd of 50 partied to the sounds of DJ Empress Zion who had the building

Music Club is a small club I happened to come up on one night looking for
something to do. I was drawn in by the flashy colors and stayed for the
friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
BonappetitLaTease should be a proud owner of
her small establishment. There’s something to catch the eye on every
wall. From the neon colors to the pictures of old movies and stars, it is
a fun club.
