Spotlight on Angeldust: A Rare Gem -sarahelisebeth Brenham Reporting...

There are many stores in Second Life, but how often do you find one that sells everything a woman needs to look her best? Let me introduce you to Angeldust.

Angeldust is owned by Amoche Noel and started its humble beginnings in 2011. The idea for the store was birthed from Ms. Noel’s passion for beauty and fashion with products to make our avatars look gorgeous, without burning a hole in your wallet. Wanting a way for women to be able to purchase things that will make them feel beautiful and not have to take out a second mortgage on their home in doing so, Ms. Noel decided to dedicate herself in learning how to design footwear, accessories, clothes and skins. The journey in creating things for female characters was not easy for Ms. Noel, but like most things in life, practice is all that is needed to achieve your goals. Knowing this, Ms. Noel did not give up on her dream and made enough merchandise to open her long awaited shop.

Club QQ TnT Greedy Greedy Friendly Gaming Hang Out

"QQ TnT Greedy Greedy" is a gaming hangout spanned over almost 3/4th of a sim. It features multiple games, a club, rides and shopping areas. The landing area of sim is located near gaming section. While entering the place you will be welcomed by dozens of neatly arranged game tables. These game tables mainly include most populate dice game in SL, "Greedy". These all are free play tables with different themes and greedy game settings per table. In other games include skippo, on the roll, Can't stop, chess and many more. This place also features free bowling lanes and a jackpot greedy tables section. The gaming area is designed with a green grass floor surrounded by walls. This gives the place pleasantly open and vast look and feel, like a park. The most amazing thing about this place is you will almost always find someone here to play a game of your interest with. It's a busy hangout. You can also ask for players in their group, and someone is always willing to play with you. You can never be bored here with so many gaming options, willing players and friendly atmosphere. If you like table games in SL, particularly greedy, then this place is heaven for you. It is also good place to find new friends.

I talked to the owner Dingo Darbyshire to learn more about this fascinating hangout.

Elders Summit- April 2013: Is Second Life heading towards another mass exodus? Here’s what the Elders are saying- Lanai Jarrico Reporting...

I recently met with the remaining SL Elders for yet another secret summit because the echo of concern has become louder in recent months. The Mayan temple we used to meet in has now vanished and replaced by flat lands. We had to seek privacy and peace on a mountain top high in the clouds to discuss some issues. This time the meeting was different; I could almost hear the tears of the elders’ roll down their cheeks and see the frustration in their faces as we formed our circle and drew energy and comfort from each other. I was saddened to see even the core members of the Elders Summit are starting to recede in active membership. The lack of energy and motivation that once made us glow together is now a dim shadow that is forming a dark cloud of doubts and concerns over Second Life and its residents. Feelings are uneasy about the future of SL, especially with the rumor that Linden Labs is trying to get rid of Firestorm and other independent viewers used in order to force residents to use SL viewers only.  Speculation is rife and it is leaving many to question if there is an intention of a stronghold against the community.

Are the Lindens being control freaks?

Make Way for a New venue on the Grid with Integrity: Club Cassiopeia -Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

Entertainment in Second Life can be found in a number of ways. It depends on the resident’s idea of fun and the places that provide an atmosphere that suits their mood.

Venues are popular places to visit alone or with a group of friends. It is also a great place to socialize with others and meet new people to add to your list. There are many locations across the grid, each with their own style, themes, contests, staff and live entertainment.

DJ’s and musicians provide the music and hosts greet visitors with a warm welcome. Most venues have a group that guests can join. These groups are a great way to be notified of other parties and special events they offer. Using Second Life’s event guide can be very helpful when looking for something to do. They provide residents a way to find a variety of activities happening at any given time.

On April 4, 2013 from 10 am to 1pm SLT, Club Cassiopeia celebrated their grand opening and the turnout was amazing. The music genre was mixed and upbeat, delivered hot and spicy by DJ Duh Ghost.  The club’s name is interesting.  According to Wikipedia, (2013) Cassiopeia is a constellation in the northern sky and named after a queen in Greek mythology who boasted about her unrivalled beauty. It certainly describes this club and atmosphere.

SL Newser: Perri Prinz’s Green Meadows Club

One club that's been around for a few years that was built as a tribute to classic rock is Green Meadows, formerly known as Xanadu.

Run by Perri Prinz and RECoyote Mindes, the club has events a few times every week. But as good as the music is, Perri being an expert of the music of the time period, the club is well designed to the point of being a work of art, in addition to a nearby building having a gallery of science-fiction/fantasy art. Recently, Grease Coakes went to Perri and Rec to ask about the club.

SL Newser: Queen of the Sagitarian Sea Revisited- Gemma Cleanslate Reporting...

image retrieved from SL Newser

I noticed when DrFran wrote about the first place she visited in SL, I had memories of mine. Revisiting is not always the same. Somehow the place survives but, the heart is gone. One of my first favorites was Svarga Svarga. I go look once in a while just for memories. The story however, did send me to reminiscing about old places where I still go and love.

What do you think when you hear or see the word Hollywood?  Glitz, glamour, fame, fortune?  All of them of course!

And what about the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame?  It was created in 1958 as a tribute to artists and other significant contributors within the entertainment industry with the first star to be permanently installed being that of director, Stanley Kramer. Honourees receive a star based on their achievements in motion pictures, live theatre, radio, television, and/or music, as well as their charitable and civic contributions.

And now in Second Life we have our very own Hollywood and walk of fame presented by non-other than the inimitable Ivy Maverick in conjunction with the ever magnanimous Ramses Meredith, who is also responsible for the sim design.  Way to go you two, it is stunning.

Happy Easter: Interview with Pinky the Easter Bunny - Lanai Jarrico Reporting…

According to Google© search, Easter Sunday falls on March 31st this year.  It is best known as the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church. It depicts the resurrection of Christ for religious observers. This holiday starts with Lent ; a fasting period, ending with The Holy Week. For Catholics, the Thursday before Easter is called Holy Thursday and Good Friday is also observed. Easter is also linked to the Jewish Passover. For many, the Easter Holiday traditions vary in different ways.

For non religious observers, it is most likely the only day a year they go to church on Sunday. The Easter Bunny seems to be the main attraction and decorating eggs is the thing to do. Many buy baskets full of jelly beans, assorted candy, chocolate bunnies and fake grass filler. Local communities celebrate with Easter parades and a precession of local fire truck tossing candy at scattering kids along the road and the mayor rolls by waving like Miss America in a suit and tie.  Family gatherings seem to follow where parents display their little girls in pastel overly frilly dresses and dolling up little boys in shiny shoes, dress shirts, extra starched slacks, including creases and button up vests.

Sometimes overly excessive parents slap a fancy hat on their kids and parading them to Church and to visit the grandparents were they collect money,  sloppy kisses and take photographs to add to their albums, for later blackmail and embarrassing photo sharing with visitors and  high school dates.

Oh the Joys of Easter! However you decided to observe the day, remember the real reason for the occasion.
With all that said, in Second Life, Easter is observed with themed dance parties, decorations and Easter hunts. Some even dress like bunnies and hop around the grid creating the holiday atmosphere. Others litter the landscape with Easter Eggs, pastel trees and vibrant green pastures full of colorful spring flowers.
While wandering the grid taking in the festive locations, I came across this year’s Easter Bunny Mascot. Apparently just like the last Cupid, the previous Bunny must have thrown down his costume and went on to a whole new SL profession; perhaps stripping down to a banana hammock at one of the adult clubs.

Into Group Discussion? Check Out What’s Being Talked About in Second Life this Week.

What are Discussion Groups?
Group discussions are conferences with participants who agree on a variety of topics and have something to share with others.  An exchange of ideas and information can be very helpful in providing a group with different perspectives, helping  solve problems and learn new things.  Group Discussions are very popular on the internet with the use of forums and are often practiced in Colleges.  In Second Life, the ability to use voice chat and come together in avatar form from all over the world, creates a realistic atmosphere for all who participate on a global scale.
