THE APHRODITE FESTIVAL WITH THE PINK VAMPIRE FEB 13TH 7 PM SLT AT ORIGEN'S HOLLYWOOD VENUES

This is the first of Origen’s new spectacular events in Hollywood's new schedule. It will be a Valentine’s eve show, titled “The Aphrodite Festival,” starring The Pink Vampire. And what better way to spend the night before Valentine's Day than with Aphrodite, the goddess of love. The stars and Moon will shine the light of romance around us. The voice of Aphrodite (The Pink Vampire) will arouse those deep desires and passions in us, casting her enchantments over our hearts; as she did in ancient Greece. It is time to fall in love all over again, and the Aphrodite Festival is the perfect place to do it. Bring that special someone, or find someone new at this star-crossed event.

The set designers at Hollywood Studios have gone all out creating a Mt. Olympus style venue, based on the very bad, but fun and popular Hercules and Sons of Hercules movies of the 1960’s; which started such favorites as Steve Reeves and Jane Mansfield.

This event will allow either formal or costumed attire. Guests are welcome to come in togas or as their favorite Greek God, Goddess or Greek Hero. The part of Aphrodite will be played by the Pink Vampire. This event is expected to fill up fast, so guests are advised to come early to dance and to explore this fabulous full sim build.

When The Pink Vampire opened The Bowl at Origen’s Hollywood Venues, 105 guests filtered through the venue that night. We are expecting the same for the opening of Origen’s Chinese Playhouse on May 18th at 7pm SLT.

The Pink Vampire returns to Hollywood for this Gala Grand Opening, with what promises to be an amazing show. Pink is known for her fantastic vocals and perfect song selections ranging from jazz to pop and romance to sensual. Her musical stylings and performances are impeccable, giving her audiences the best musical experience in Second Life. Pink, who was voted one of the top three vocalists in the 2015 Live Music Awards, says she has a lot of surprises for this show and she won’t share what she has in store with anyone. We will just have to be there to see what she has planned.

Origen’s Chinese Playhouse is based on the blueprints and photos of the original 1927 version of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California, and the likeness is incredible. Origen says that builder Dextresis Dejavu was meticulous and obsessive about creating a version true to the original. The theater is equipped with a full working stage that is fully modifiable for singers, dance troupes and other live performances.

Origen says that only 85 guests will be allowed on the region, so it is suggested that guests come early before each show and explore McArthur Park across the street from the theater (created by Sammie Haworth-Masters), take a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame, or enjoy the hand and foot prints of the stars in the cement in the theater’s courtyard before the show.

So, come early to get the best seats and don’t miss this one of a kind performance at Origen’s Chinese Playhouse on Hollywood Blvd in Second Life.

Harry Frychester Returns to The Bowl, April 19th 6pm SLT

Harry returns to Origen’s Hollywood Venues, but this time as part of the Hollywood family. Harry will be performing for his fans every other Tuesday night at The Bowl. Harry Frychester is famous for his smooth jazz vocals and styling; but he is not limited to that, offering pop and country western for his audience’s enjoyment. The fans of the Hollywood Venues have demanded Harry back, and now they have him every other Tuesday. 
The Bowl build is based on an early version of The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. The build in Sl at Origen’s Hollywood Venues is the perfect romantic destination. The venue will easily hold 100 avatars. It has also been tweaked for the midnight setting on your viewer. With 110 couples dances in the TIS and dozens of male and female singles dances in the Intan everyone will look good on the dance floor.

Origen explains how Jae Sands inspired the building of the Hollywood Square Garden: “Well, it started a couple of months ago at a meeting Jae and I had in my office. I had hired Jae a few weeks earlier to perform on a regular basis in our 6pm SLT Sunday night spot. He has not disappointed. He sounds like a mature Frank Sinatra down to Sinatra’s NY attitude. Every week more people come to know and love his performances. I had asked Jae to come up with some big ideas as to what he wanted to do at The Hollywood Venues. At that meeting he shared a really big idea with me, but at that moment even he did not know how big it would get; neither did I.

“Jae told me about a performance that Sinatra gave in 1974 at The Madison Square Garden. The show had been televised and the soundtrack released as an album. He shared how this performance, called The Main Event,” had grown over the years to become an icon in Frank Sinatra’s history.  Jae’s idea was to put a boxing ring in the middle of The Bowl’s large dance floor and perform Sinatra’s show there, live; just as Sinatra had performed it in a boxing ring at Madison Square Garden. I liked the idea, I liked Jae’s thinking of something this big. I didn’t like the idea of doing it in The Bowl. I told Jae, ‘No! We are not going to put a boxing ring in the middle of The Bowl; we are going to build Madison Square Garden instead.’

“At first I thought that I could put something together myself; creating a venue for a one-time performance. I soon figured out that I was out of my depth. A couple of days later I met builder and creator Jennifer Steele at a party given by Robin Palmer. As Jennifer and I talked, we both got more and more excited about the project. After Jennifer said that she had to do this build, we looked at some plans and she began work on what may be one of the most ambitious builds in second life.

“I originally planned to put the whole thing on half a region; but after it was done it became obvious this building deserved to be on the whole region.

“Jae’s performance will now take place in one of the larger single building creations in Second Life, The Hollywood Square Garden, on Sunday Feb 21^st at 6pm SLT.”

Origen’s Hollywood Square Garden. The build is based on a model of Madison Square Garden in New York. Even as a scaled-down version of the real-life venue, this build is huge. When completely rezzed it has physical seating for over 2400 guests. This venue will host live performers and re-create performances that took place at Madison Square Garden over the years; from such performers as Frank Sinatra, The Rolling Stones, Tony Bennett and Fleetwood Mac.

 

The opening performers will be Harry Frychester and Pippa Exonar appearing on Feb. 20^th at 6pm and 7pm SLT respectively.  Harry is known throughout Second Life for his smooth voice and professional performances, whether they are in the area of jazz, pop or country music. Pippa has a flair for fun, entertaining and strong female voice selections of music. When she sings one of her favorite songs, “A Spoon Full of Sugar,” from “Mary Poppins,“ one swears it is actually Julie Andrews in Pixel form. It is no wonder that at her performances she is breaking venue attendance records.

 

Opening the second night of this weekend event is Jae Sands (Feb. 21^st, 6pm SLT). He will be re-creating Frank Sinatra’s performance at Madison Square Garden in 1974. The show was titled, “The Main Event.” Jae will perform live the songs that Sinatra did in that show. This will be followed at 7pm SLT by a tribute band of one of the biggest groups to ever play Madison Square Garden, The Rolling Stones. The likenesses of the avatars to the actual band members is stunning to see.

THE GRAND OPENING OF THE BOWL WAS A SMASH HIT!

The Gala Grand Opening of The Bowl at The Hollywood Ballroom in Second Life was an amazing event this last Saturday night. This fabulous event stared Second Life’s premier vocalist, The Pink Vampire. She performed 11 new songs that she prepared just for that event. Over 100 people were in attendance though the night; at one point there were 85 happy fans on the region.

The finale was something to behold. The Pink Vampire sang “Hooray for Hollywood” and was joined by choreographer Shadow Tarber and her dance troop, who stunned the crowd with an amazing dance number, as fireworks blazed around the stage and venue.

The Bowl is the new home for The Pink Vampire every Saturday night. It is rumored that her fans have nicknamed the place, “The Pink Pavilion” for Saturdays.

Samual Wetherby of Showtime Magazine wrote: “I think The Hollywood Bowl will be a nice asset to the Second Life entertainment lineup of Big Venues and Grand Events to come!

The owner of The Hollywood Ballroom, Origen Resident, was asked about opening this venue, “Why here and why now?” Origen commented, “The Pink Vampire forced my hand. The crowds coming to her shows are so big, The Hollywood Ballroom simply can’t hold them anymore. During her last show, we had to turn people away. So, we set up a make shift sound system outside the ballroom and people were dancing on Hollywood Blvd. With The Hollywood Bowl we have room for everyone who wants to attend her performance and many other performances that will be held there.”

This is a special event and invitations are being sent out to all of the A-listers in town. The Paparazzi is sure to be sneaking around (I know, I’m sending them), so wear your best formal and cocktail attire; you want to look good for our society page.
