The Care and Hope Center is a not-for-profit info hub that was created in the Winter of 2014 by Morgan Whitfield-Mickalobe. The purpose of the Center is to provide and hopefully instill awareness on the horrors of domestic violence and violence against women.  Monthly free classes are offered on various topics such as Warning Signs of a Domestic Abusive Relationship, Emotional Abuse, Avatar Safety, Love Addiction, etc.   With the approval of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV.org), NoMore.org and LoveisRespect.org.

It is with deep sadness that I have to announce the closing of the 'Hope and Care Center "of Center Ground.  The center reflected some of my core values, in and out of our virtual world. While some may not care to deal with RL issues in their "play" space. We felt that if one person was helped by seeing or hearing some information at the "Hope and Care Center", then it was worth it.  I applaud Morgan Whitfield for her vision and wish her well in her future endeavors. I'm sure we will be working together again.

Care and Hope Center does NOT accept any monetary donations.  We ask that you donate to your local battered women's center, YWCA, NoMore.org, NRVCD.org or LoveisRespect.org.

Second Life is a safe place.  Your avatar can't be killed or hurt except temporarily, and you yourself can't be physically harmed at all.  But there ARE hazards in the virtual world...griefers, pranksters, scam artists, and emotional dangers.  Lindal Kidd has been teaching Second Life Avatar Safety for over five years, and we are happy to have her as a guest lecturer.  Whether you are new to Second Life or an "old hand" you will be sure to learn something!
