Thursday 17 February 2022 at 12pm SLT we invite you to join us for this event. In our new expo artist Polo Rheinart shows his images inspired by Romaine Brooks (1874-1970) Brooks lived most of her life in Paris where she was a leading figure of an artistic counterculture of upper-class Europeans and American expatriates, many of whom were creative, bohemian, and homosexual. She crafted an androgynous appearance that challenged conventional ideas of how women should look and behave. These ideas extended to many of the portraits she painted in the 1920's, which are some of her best known works. Polo Rheinart was inspired by her art and created images with her esthetics in mind.
