Quick Tips on How to Book Entertainment in Second Life- Piers Diesel Reporting..

So you have a new venue and you want to book entertainment, however, you are not sure how to do this.
Well, it is not as hard as it sounds once you plan ahead and know what type of entertainment you wish to have as well as considering your budget and time.

Here are some tips on how to start.

Debi Palmira who manages a list of Second Life DJs in Second Life.

Managers of acts
Most but not all entertainers in Second Life have managers and to book these talents, you have to contact their managers. Usually they inform you in the profile who their manager is and how they prefer being contacted. Just like Real Life when you speak to the entertainer’s manager you will discuss fee, dates, times and also making sure that their act fits what you are looking for. Once agreed, a booking confirmation form should be completed to confirm that all has been agreed with both parties. It also acts as security in case days get mixed up. You can easily produce the note card to confirm.

Directly with the entertainer
If the entertainer does not have a manager, which you will find in some cases, then you would  simply contact the entertainer to arrange bookings and fees. This can be seen as much easier as you are able to liaise directly instead of waiting for the manager to get back to you on any questions they are not certain about.

Using a entertainment business
Using an entertainment business in Second Life will helps cut down the constant searching and contacting people. You can leave this to other PR businesses in Second Life who will do all of this for you. This can be time saving but also remember it can also be more expensive as you will naturally have to pay a fee for any research and booking done by the entertainment firm.

The basis of planning an entertaining event is making sure people who attended will enjoy the performance, that it is what you really want or had planned; not because it was the only thing available to book.

Finally, if the entertainment does not go the way you planned and it is something which you will be doing on a regular basis. Learn from the mistakes that were made and adjust your plans to suit your needs.
With so many options available there is something for everyone in Second Life.

Good Luck, we wish you the best!
