On New Year’s Eve I decided to go to a venue
to ring in the New Year. The live performer that night was Savannah Coronet.
Everyone at the event enjoyed her performance so I decided to contact Savannah
and ask her bit about how she got into performing in SL. We sat down at a café
and she shared who inspired her and what to expect for 2014.
Tea:
How did you start performing in SL?
Savannah:
In 2008 I started hosting for the Shooting Star Live Music Venue. I never
realized that people performed using backing tracks in Second Life. I had some
recordings of myself. I asked Miyushu Babii and Pat Wunderland to come and have
a listen and that was it. I had my first show December 31, 2008. I had been in
Second Life for 2 years before that.
Tea:
For those of our readers who may have
not heard you perform yet, what kind of music do you sing?
Savannah:
My main genre is Country, but I spread my wings out to Rock, Blues, Jazz and
Pop... all with a little southern twang. I like all kinds of music myself, so I
sing what I love.
Tea:
Where do you perform in SL?
Savannah:
I perform at so many wonderful venues. You can check out the schedule using the
following link http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=savannahcoronet%40gmail.com&ctz=America/Los_Angeles
Tea:
Who would be your inspiration in rl in
the music industry?
Savannah:
Patsy Cline would be the greatest
inspiration. I started off singing her hits when I was a teenager. I put
together a Patsy Cline Tribute show for Second Life and will be performing that
for the 40th time on January 11th! So many others as well. I am a big Prince
fan. Also Wynonna is a very inspiring strong woman in the music industry that I
love as well.
Tea:What
do you like to do in SL when you’re not performing?
Savannah:
Sometimes I get a little free time to spend
with my very supportive and wonderful SL husband Jac Jacques and our family.
I'm a woman so yes I like to do some SL shopping and I love to catch some good
live music shows when I can.
Tea:
What can we expect from you next year
and 2014?
Savannah:
More of the same with something added here
and there. I have been performing in here 5 years now. I hope to keep the show
entertaining and fresh by adding more songs and by working on being better
today than I was yesterday. I have a wonderful group of people that work with
me also. As well as the live music we normally have some dancers on stage for
added effect and the choreography by Dametria Arabello is awesome. I wanted to
give a special thanks to the Gang - Adam & Ari Spark , Miyushu Babii,
Starlight Marville, Dametria Arabello, Skeat Abonwood, Sara Cinquetti and my
Husband Jac Jacques.
