Life and Times of a Second Life(c) Super Model Ms Carley Benazzi-Tea Couturier Reporting...

Life as a model in SL(c) can be as long as you want it to be. Just like real life, the more experience and respect you gain in the industry, the easier it  gets to attract the big fashion houses in SL.

In the past, SL had models and Super models. Just as RL super models modelled for the big fashion houses in SL and were always first choice when work was needed such a print or runway. Their names and reputation in the industry became renowned and you would recognize them by their names instantly as a super model.
There are still a few SL super models around who are now part of the SL industry, still renowned for their contribution to the modelling world.

One model in particular is Carley Benazzi.

I was fortunate to have a chance to chat with her between photo shoots for a well-known fashion label.

Tea: Hi Carley
Carley: Hi Tea!

Tea: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Carley: I am a model and blogger in SL. I am the co-face of MIAMAI. I am also extremely proud and humbled at the same time to be part of so many modelling agencies and groups. Outside of model-type work I enjoy exploring SL.

Tea:  Could you tell our readers how you first got into modeling in SL?
Carley: I originally started modelling after a friend suggested I try. She said I had an attractive avatar and a good sense of style. So after a little push I started casting for jobs.

Tea.  Has modelling changed since you first started out? If so, how?
Carley: Modelling has changed slightly. There seem to be fewer runway shows. I have had the opportunity to be both a runway model and print model. I think that possibly there are just more people in modelling but that is a normal progression. I purposefully also decided to be a model and not a pageant avatar.

Tea. What would be your  advice to give to someone who wants to be a model in SL and is not sure what they need to become one?

Carley: Be yourself, do what makes you feel the most comfortable and remember everyone has a different idea of what is stylish. But don't forget to take criticism and use it to better yourself. And do your best to not become discouraged; it can be difficult but follow your heart.

Tea. Throughout your time modelling clothing designs have changed over the time? Do you feel it has changed for the better?

Carley: I love the way clothing has changed. There are so many more options available and much more up to date and real-life styles to choose from.

Tea.  What do you like doing in Second Life when you are not modelling?

Carley: I love to shop. I also blog and I enjoy exploring new places in SL or even older sims that promote art and creativity.
.
Tea. Are there any new things or projects coming out soon?

Carley: I plan to keep modelling as long as I can in SL. I am proud to be part of MIAMAI and all of the agencies I am included in. As far as new things I can only answer that I plan to continue blogging and modeling and growing as a model and stylist.

Modelling in SL has changed throughout the years but one thing is certain. As long as we have fashion we will always need models.
