In SL, there use to be a time when you were
inundated with fashion shows to attend. Some shows were simple while others
where more elaborate. It was hard to pick and sometimes your schedule would be
booked solid with shows to attend.
In 2013 the fashion world changed. It has become a platform for anyone to be a
designer, which is good and now new names are getting through the fashion door
instead of just peering in. However, as the fashion industry has changed so has
the number of fashion shows being exhibited. Fashion competitions enable anyone
who wants to be a model to enter and stand a good chance of winning even if they
have not trained at the top SL modelling academy’s or fashion schools.
Here are a few which have caught my eyes.

AVENUE Autumn/Winter Fashion Week 2013
This is a very popular and regular fashion show were you will need to arrive early to make sure you get a seat at any of the designer’s shows. It is one which emulates RL fashion week but in a SL fashion concept. It is as realistic as you can get if you always wanted to attend a RL fashion show.
It lasts all week. Get more information on who will be launching
their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection by joining the Avenue group.

WINTER
BALL STYLING CHALLENGE
The winner of this challenge gets PR for one
month and their gorgeous photo will be displayed on the Models work website and access to Models world
inworld facilities. This could be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get
feedback and advice from other models. This is open to males and females.
The concept is to encourage all participants
to be creative with styling by mixing and matching elements from different
designers, experiment with object placement and colour combinations, and choose
interesting poses to showcase your fabulous look but each participant must keep
in mind the basic modelling and styling rules.

Charleston
Enterprises is searching for Charleston's Belle.
This has already begun on September 16th
2013, however you have until October 16, 2013 to submit a notecard with a head
shot and a full length photo.
You must wear something you purchased at
Charleston in the past or something you just purchased at any of the stores of
our esteemed designers. Also include the
store and product name of what you used in the notecard.
You must then put your entry in the mailbox
box at the Welcome to Charleston sign.
Judges will then select 20 semi-finalists and
they will be announced on November 1st 2013.
Semi Final will be held on November 9th at
1PM at the Dock Street Theatre. Three categories on the runway, Casual,
Swimsuit, and Formal.
Judges will then select the 10 finalists.
November 16th 1PM will be finals, again three
categories, Casual, Swimsuit, and Formal.
The judges will then pick the top five, and
announce the winner, runner up, and third place.
