Stories Unlimited and StoryFest Events are pleased to
announce the third annual Bard on the Virtual Beach,
taking place this year at Nowhereville beach in the Five Island’s
Estate. The celebration of the works of
William Shakespeare with scenes, sonnets, and other Shakespeare-inspired
performances will begin at Noon SLT, Sunday, August 25th and
benefits War Child North America.
“It is really an amazing line up this year,” reported
festival organizers, “We have a range of material from A Midsummer Night’s Dream
and As
You Like It, to Titus Andronicus and Hamlet.” Also featured will be a first for BARD, a
performance from A Merchant of Venice performed in Spanish by Yunus Nyn of
TALIA, with translation provided for English speakers. “This has primarily been
an English-speaking event. Yunus and his group approached us about StoryFest which we
were not able to work out, so we are excited to have him be a part of the
Shakespeare Event and to see what we present in our festivals grow in this way.”
Bard on the Virtual
Beach produces three weekend festivals annually, and in 2012 added The
Dickens Project to its offerings. “We have no idea how many years these events
will last, but as long as there are people who want to do them, people who want
to attend them, and we can find a place to host them we will keep on producing
them.”
