Marina Tigerfish is an SL resident that has found her place in the virtual world in the 4 years she has been here. She is a creator and designer with a passion for 80’s music, exploring beautiful landscapes and even hitting the virtual waves on her down time. When she is not working, Marina focuses her attention on her store; Marina's Creation.
Meet Marina Tigefish
Lanai: Hi Marina, Congratulations on winning this month’s spotlight feature! It is always exciting to meet new people and find out what they are all about. Let me start by asking what brought you to Second Life?
Marina:I read about how Second Life was growing for the better and there was a world where you can create and have fun at the same time. I read about how Second Life was growing for the better.
Lanai: You are right about a world where you can create and have fun. Do you see Second Life as an extension of your real life or just an outlet for your creativity?
Marina: I think everyone has a extension of their real life in Second Life. There is no hiding that. When I go to any designer’s store. I see how their personal creativity is shown in their designs.
Lanai: That is so true. There is a person behind every avatar so I think thier personality has to be part of their avatar in some ways. Playing a bit with your creativity, can you describe yourself in 5 words?
Marina: Sassy,Urban,Sexy,Wild and Unique
Lanai: That combination can get you in a lot of trouble here in SL. There are so many things to get involved in. What kinds of activities do you participate in?
Marina: I love going to places like festivals,fairs,going to 80's clubs and sales of course lol. Surfing is my down time or relaxing on the beach.
Lanai: It sounds like you know how to have fun in SL. You can’t really enjoy these things without friends or that special someone. who has inspires you the most in SL?
Marina: My husband Royston Silvercloud, he gives me inspiration everyday. He makes sure to let me know that anything is possible and dreams do come true.
Lanai: That is very sweet of Royston to be that inspiration. Often times friends come and go here in SL, the true ones always remain by your side. How has your experience influenced you and your creativity?
Marina: Yes, it has in so many ways. Watching people teach on how to design and build. If it wasn't for the them, I wouldn't be here today.
Lanai: When did you realize you wanted to be a designer?
Marina: Wanted to show people my style of creativity. Second LIfe has more to offer once you learn the basics. Designing could be fun if you put your mind to it.
Lanai: That’s true, I love being creative here too, I’m just not that good at building things lol. What kind of products do you sell?
Marina: Women's clothing and accessories for right now. In the future there is going to be pre- fab, retail buildings and other gadgets for your store.
Lanai: OOh sounds interesting. What style would you say your designs represent?
Marina: Urban Chic
Lanai: Nice combination.Do you do custom work?
Marina: Not at the moment. But it will happen in the near future. Just add yourself to my group Marina's Creation for future updates and dollarbies.
Lanai: Before we wrap this interview up, do you have any specials going on?
Marina: Yes, I have a lucky chair, dollarbies and once a week I will have one full outfit (including shoes) for only $50 Lindens!
