Inspired by film noir, steampunk and classical horror, The Blackened Mirror www.TheBlackenedMirror.com is aiming to be a whole new media experience, combining virtual world television (machinima), social media games and networking, and rip-roaringly good old fashioned story telling.
Launching today! (Friday 31st August at 3pm) as part of the Happy Hunting! Show on Treet TV, The Blackened Mirror is an ambitious new project from Prim Perfect Publications and Treet TV.
At its core, The Blackened Mirror is a TV series, created in a virtual world, with elements of film noir, steampunk and classic Lovecraft horror. You can watch it at Treet.TV, or on You Tube. But that’s just the start …
That’s because The Blackened Mirror is also a game that can be enjoyed within the virtual world of Second Life or through explorations and puzzles on the internet.
“We’re calling it fun noir,” says Saffia Widdershins, the producer and director of the series.
And there’s an impressive team involved – ranging from the writer Da5id Abbot, a popular novelist in real life, to professional actors Scott Simpson and Christy Grantham among the cast.
"All this cutting edge technology is great,” says Scott, “but in the end it comes down to the same questions for me it always has come down to. Is it a story I want to be a part of telling? Is it a character I'm jazzed to be playing? TBM is a resounding YES to both! I love David's scripts and playing Quinn is more fun than should be legal."

These clues will lead you to more information about the characters and the plot … and if you are following the game within Second Life, it will also lead to prizes to keep, too! You might even win the chance to be name-checked as a character ...
