Children of a Factory Nation - CD Release Party for JordanReyne Deezul
Hailed by New Zealand's National Radio as the pioneer of a new sound, Jordan's music is a bloodthirsty mix of Celtic rock, Grimms fairytale-eske text and the sounds of steam and iron. Imagine PJ Harvey trapped in the workhouses of old England, with only Nine Inch Nails for company, and you're almost there.
Jordan has had three National Music Award nominations in her home country as well as several commissions by the New Zealand Arts Council. Her musical involvements include the second Lord of the Rings soundtrack, Cafe Del Mar, and a co-written song with BBC UK's Zane
Lowe.
Jordan is touring the UK in October this year with her new album
"Children of a Factory Nation" due out on October 24th and to be officially released in SL on the 26th. Jordan credits the album to the creative influences of Second Life and the fans there who helped make the album happen.
Its the story of a working class family from Wales and it follows their story to London as they search for work in the factories at a time when peoples lives were being turned upside down by poverty, and the invention of new machines. The sound is steampunk, its industrial, its celtic folk and its totally original and captivating.
The album is being showcased at SLive on the 26th October @ 12 pm slt as the official Second Life release for this amazing piece of work and its not to be missed!!! SLive's Club, MANALLAU (168,218,22)
You can catch a taste of the album with the newly released video Johnny and the Sea
