Salem Witch Memorial
Stacey goes to Salem Scojo Zanzibar and Nahnee Adamski have put together a magnificent and well-informed sim. I totally urge you to visit the Salem Witch Memorial. As you may or may not know, witchcraft hysteria gripped Salem- an English colony in Massachusetts- during the 1690s. Things went haywire quickly, and 20 people were put to death. Another 5 died in prison. In an early example of American defiance, Giles Corey was pressed under stones, eventually dying in the process. he refused to confess, and his last words were "More weight!" This sim is something else. For starters, Adamski is a descendant of Rebecca Nurse, who was a True Player in the Salem madness. She's serious enough about it that the quote "I have to go back to Salem to make sure that I have the stones laid out properly" came up in our interview. There's a mall of sorts, a lot of witchcraft stuff, a Book Of Life, and the memorial itself. It's a good way to entertain yourself, but it's also a good way to do some contemplation. The Salem Witch hysteria is one of the truly dark chapters of American history. I'm not going to give too much away, because A) I like you to be able to enjoy the sim for yourself, and B) I was there about 15 minutes before the region restarted. I'll be back, and you should pop in soon.
