Get your Science on... at the NOAA Virtual Island In SciLands! The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has a sim set aside for informative purposes. Anyone on SL who feels like it can come down and bop around to their heart's content.

I'm a weather geek of the highest order. It comes from living on the Massachusetts coast. We get ocean storms and blizzards a lot, so it pays to keep an eye on the weather. Over time, you start to learn stuff. Before you you know it, you're a geek. It doesn't matter how pretty you are, either.
