Over fifteen different presenters of stories presented over two dozen different stories in a number of presentational methods ranging from traditional telling to radio play to story ballet in this past weekend’s first ever celebration of World Storytelling Day on the Second Life Grid: StoryFest 2011
Presentations connected people from almost every continent in the world, from places including Canada, Hawaii, Australia, Holland, Norway, Great Britain and Wales as well as from all over the continental United States. “People connected, and that was the important thing,” said the organizers from Branwen Arts, Seanchai Library, and Stories Unlimited!, “and there were an incredibly range of amazing tales told.”
At the Closing Ceremonies it was announced that the same organizing group will sponsor BOOFest! In the fall (specific dates to be announced) and run a weekend of ghost stories and “other stories best told around the comfort of a warming fire” in the same weekend format.
The organizing group will maintain their blogsite for the organization and announcing of future events: http://storyfestsl2011.blogspot.com/
Those interested in being notified when the call for presenters goes out for BOOFest! should contact Dubhna Rhiadra, Caledonia Skytower, or Derry McMahon in world.
