Spring is in the air and I'm ready for a whole new season of adventures but I can only imagine what's in store for me this year....
Last year around this time, it was a different story. I was attacked by a swarm of butterflies that I accidentally unleashed on my land, leading to me deleting half of the media center during a panic attack.
aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, That Sucked!
Reporting from the frontline can be more of a hassle than a labor of love sometimes when I have to deal with stuff like that or lag issues and crashing in the middle of something I'm trying to work on or write about, but when I am having fun, I really enjoy what I do and it turns out to be no work at all. Let me just keep my fingers crossed and hope that the rest of the season runs smoothly, or at least better than it did last month.
For those of you who have been wondering where I have been. The truth is I was in LT Rehab for a whole 42 days while my computer repair place held my laptop hostage. I didn’t want to mention the name of this online laptop dealership, *cough* ibuypower.com *cough*, but they have the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
My issue was a faulty power outlet. So when I sent it out, I included a detailed note of my problem and even paid for 3 day shipping under the impression it would take 2 weeks, just like the man told me over the phone. As you can imagine….that was not the case and for the price I paid for repair, they better not follow up with a customer survey call any time soon.
Anyway, on with my ordeal... Each day spent away from my addiction to Second Life just piled onto the next as I went through the worst withdrawals ever. To curb attitude problems and snapping at the innocent, I took up calming hobbies like pastel painting and sketching until it got too depressing.
I even got back into doing other passions of mine like spring cleaning, sleeping in and over eating due to boredom. The worst of my withdrawal habits was picking up a new addiction by discovering the $10 bucket of Chicken value deal at KFC.
I can’t count how many days of rehab I spent sitting in front of my flat screen TV watching Netflix Dramas on the Wii and catching up on past episodes of Ghost hunters on the Discovery Channel while slamming down the greasiest science lab poultry ever, only to go cry in the shower later feeling all guilty and disgusted with myself.
In a nutshell, I was a hot mess and in complete and utter despair because I missed my Second Life family and friends very much. Besides that, trying to manage the paper from my iphone was no easy task, so I have to give props to the ladies of SLE for holding down the fort while I was having my dramatic issues.
To all my friends who frantically tried to get a hold of me over my daily yahoo rehab countdown status, I’m touched by the outpouring of love and appalled by the ones who actually thought I was really on crack and in recovery.
Anyway….Now that my laptop is back, I’m ready to get back into the swing of things here in Second Life, so be on the lookout for some cool upcoming events at the SL Enquirer Media Center like…
