StoryFest 2011 is a partnership between the Branwen Arts, Seanchai Library, and the STORIES UNLIMITED! hippo-group. The goal of the two-day festival is to present stories in a variety of presentational methods: Traditional Telling, Literature, Theatre, etc. StoryFest will kick off Saturday, March 19th and continue Sunday March 20th at “Here Be Pictsies!” in Bran. There will be three independent story venues in easy distance from the Landing Zone: The Goblin Cave, The Pictsie Fire Circle, and the Temple Ruins. There will also be two venues intended for larger presentations: the Grand Fire Circle and the Arts Center Theatre.
There is currently an "Invitation to Present" open for virtual storytellers of all kinds. Anyone who is currently presenting stories in Second Life in any manner that is a live performance can apply for session space at StoryFest. Presentations should fit within 30 or 60 minute performance slots, and be presentable in live Voice. Some limited performance slots for more elaborate presentations are possible. No stream will be available for individual performers.
There will be a resource tree near the Landing Zone where guests attending can click on an images and receive notecard information about performers and groups, where and when they can find them on the grid, freebie giveaways . . . who knows?
People interested in presentation slots at Storyfest should contact Contact Caledonia Skytower or Dubhna Rhiadra. Applications are due via notecard by March 1.
The StoryFest performances will be confirmed by March 10th, and the final schedule published at that time.
The organizers reserve the right to review the performers submitting and accept those performances & performers that they feel best fit the goals of the festival.
