SL ARTS & LITERATURE: Poetry Contest to Benefit London Cold Weather Shelters

There are just over two weeks left to get your poems in for the Lumen/Camden Poetry Competition judged by the UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Poets from both the virtual and corporeal worlds are invited to submit.  The winner will have 20 pages of their poetry published in a printed booklet and will receive 50 copies of the printing.

There's a small entry fee with all proceeds going to help the homeless in two London Cold Weather Shelters. International entries are invited by email or post.     * Poems up to 40 lines.
    * £2.50 per poem, 6 poems £10. International entries by Paypal and email on the website.
    * Closing date 14 February 2011.
    * Poetry must not be previously published.
    * Judge: Carol Ann Duffy, UK Poet Laureate. 
    * Proceeds to the Cold Weather Shelters.
    * Pamphlet publication collection of winner's poems - 50 free copies plus a reading.
    *Results announced on 30 April 2011 and displayed on the websites www.wardwoodpublishing.co.uk and www.camdenlumen.wordpress.com

How to submit:

Payment by Cheque:
    * Submissions and cheques to Ruth O’Callaghan,  49 Ripley Gardens, Mortlake London, SW14 8HF, United Kingdom. Do not send paper copies of poems to Ward Wood Publishing.
    * Put your name and contact details on a separate sheet not on the poems themselves.

Payment by Pay Pal:
    * Go to the Competitions page on www.wardwoodpublishing.co.uk and click the Paypal button
    * Then either post poems to Ruth (see address above) and include the Pay Pal transaction code and your Pay Pal account email address on a separate page
    * or send the poems in the body of an email with your contact details and Pay Pal transaction code at the top of the email to adele@wardwoodpublishing.co.uk
