Azure Yachts launch which took place on Saturday, July 10, 2010 and which was a gala day of festivities celebrating the Grand Opening of Azure Yachts and the unveiling of the fabulous Alpha Fleet. Featuring the Gems & Kisses collection of fine jewellery presented by one of Second Life’s premiere modelling agency Boulevard Modelling Agency followed by an after party second to none with three of Second Life’s BEST Djs SAO Tokyoska , Jenny Robledo and DJ Karrano Arashi doing the honours.
The intention of the show was to showcase the diverse opportunities for design in Second Life. On the one hand the micro-craft of designing and making Jewellery featuring "Gems & Kisses" by Deliziosa Vendetta who is synonymous with highly innovative and creative jewellery in SL and on the other hand the macro builds of luxury Super-Yachts by Niyo Batista of Azure Yachts. The venue itself was one of Azure yachts’ impressive true Luxury Super-Yachts.
The event was extremely well attended and I have doubt that big holes were being burnt in pockets of several SL residents.
The other major event of the weekend was The AVENUE open casting which took place on Sunday 11th July. Well what can I say other than, “oh wow”. Once again AVENUE’s CEO RUSCH RAYMAKER and CMO JESIKA CONTEPOMI have outdone themselves.
After 2.5 years running, AVENUE Models held its first ever open casting. 68 models from 200 applications along with 4 producers were shortlisted to pit their beauty and skills for a place in the AVENUE agency.
The judging panel was made up of
RUSCH RAYMAKER - AVENUE CEO
JESIKA CONTEPOMI - AVENUE CMO
ARADIA DIELLI - AVENUE Model, LeLutka Business Partner and Owner of Avant Poses
APPLONIA CRISS - Owner, Creator and Designer of CHANTKARE
MAVI BECK - AVENUE Model & Blogger and Store Manager of Miamai
JARL SODERSTROM - AVENUE Model, Photographer and Stylist
and MIMMI BOA - AVENUE Model and Miss Virtual World 2009.
The fashion shows were conceptualized and produced by: Sweetest Sands, Herradura Baar, Emlies Xeltentat, and Phillip Dollinger. Each producer was tasked to showcase an assigned group of models and set their own theme, choreography and stage props as well as selecting the right music for their show.
Each model was judged based on execution of choreography, walks and poses; their styling, appearance and interpretation of the theme.
The show was extremely well attended and some of us even sat around shoeless to assist in keeping lag to a minimum.
All four of the shows presented were outstanding and the judges had a huge task on their hands. Obviously the nature of the event made it a long affair and unfortunately due to the time I could not wait for the results. So keep your eyes peeled for who cracked the nod in a later edition of the SL Enquirer.
