SANDY: How did you discover SL?Declan:I discovered secondlife and joined in 2006 but did not take it up til about 2007. I was encouraged by someone somewhere already here - Phil Setner who I knew on a another program and found other artists who had migrated to Second Life from other programs.

SANDY:what brought you inworld?Declan:Friends already here inworld. Love of music and the opportunity to perform. I have been performing on a website called www.singsnap.com where I recorded over 500 recordings of duets with other artists here InWorld and many others how have not joined SL.

SANDY:Did you ever think to use your real name for what you usually do in Second Life?Declan:NO, but have shared it with my RL bands.

I esepcially appreciate all the great friends and talent I have found here.

SANDY:Do you like shopping or going to music concerts or art exhibits?Declan:All of that and more. I write poetry and love poetry reads as well. Shopping is good but I know my partner appreciates it more. i have friends who are builders and artist and that part of SL is intriguing to me.

SANDY:Do you think SL can be a valid showcase for your RL works? Declan:Yes I do think so. Think about how many artists are here and how talented they are. It is constant concerts for any genre all day long. It has also exposed me to a wider of variety of artists and genres.

SANDY:In SL did you ever think to open a live music venue?Declan:I have supported many of my friends who have done so. While my focus remains performing and being with my partner.

SANDY:Do you use other kind of digital promotions?  I record onwww.singnsap.com  under the nickname of Trey.
Declan: I have many recordings there. I also have a www.reverbnation.com  website. I also am a member of www.secondnights.com.

SANDY:Where do you see yourself a year from now:will Second Life still exist?Declan: I don't doubt that Second Life will remain, I think that with my own performances has increased my confidence and musical development. I look forward to doing more poetry reads and actually would enjoy private concerts at our SL home. While receiving tips is a wonderful rewarding experience, it is afterall the passion of music that I have and enjoy sharing with others. My saxophone performing is unique here in SL as I use tenor, alto and soprano SAX. I perform live every time and backup tracks accompany me they don't govern my performances.
